What we collect
When you request a scan we store the brand name, website, work email, category and optional notes you provide, plus the time of the request and a truncated IP address used only for abuse prevention. The marketing site itself sets no cookies and uses no third-party analytics.
Where it lives
Data is stored in Canada on AWS (ca-central-1), encrypted at rest and in transit. Access is limited to the people who run Butterfly.
How we use it
To run the scan you asked for, to send you the reading, and to reply if you write to us. We do not sell data, share it with advertisers, or use customer content to train AI models.
Retention
Scan requests are kept for 12 months, or until you ask us to delete them. Email hello@butterfly.whyjs.com to access, correct or delete your data; we respond within 30 days.
Third parties
Fonts and all assets are served from our own domain; no third-party requests are made when you load the site. AI engines are queried with public buyer questions about brands; no customer personal data is included in prompts.
