Fixes arrive as pull requests.
This page is for the engineers and content-ops people who will see Butterfly in their tools every week. It describes exactly what gets produced, where it lands, and what we need from you.
Files, not findings.
- llms.txt with facts, preferred sources and do-not-cite directives, per market.
- JSON-LD for Organization, Product, Offer, FAQPage and Review, validated against schema.org before the PR opens.
- Page diffs: minimal edits to existing content, each tied to a claim and its evidence.
- Answer blocks: question-shaped sections with one clean, citable sentence.
- Hosted MCP server that serves brand facts, products and proof to agents.
- Validation harness: tests for retrieval shape, schema validity and MCP response stability, run on every PR.

} Review it like any other PR.
- Connect GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket and pick a branch Butterfly may open PRs against.
- Each PR touches the fewest files possible and carries evidence: the drifted answer, the source, the truth diff.
- Checks run: schema validation, llms.txt lint, broken-link scan, your CI.
- You merge. Butterfly schedules the re-ask for seven days later and reports the result on the PR.
No repository? Butterfly delivers paste-ready copy with instructions and hosts llms.txt and MCP for you at a path you control via a CNAME.
Everything in the reading, as JSON.
Growth and Scale include the REST API and signed webhooks (rotating secret, retried on failure). Pull readings into your warehouse, push regressions into your alerting, add questions from support tickets.

// tools: brand.facts, brand.products, brand.proof, brand.compare Serve your truth to agents.
Agents increasingly answer buyers directly. Your hosted MCP server lets any Model Context Protocol client query brand facts, products, proof and approved comparisons in your words, refreshed from your Brand Truth file on every merge.
Boring on purpose.
- Hosted in Canada (AWS ca-central-1). Encryption at rest and in transit.
- Repository access through a GitHub App with least-privilege scopes, revocable from your side at any time.
- Your Brand Truth file, briefs and scores are never used to train models.
- Model probing uses public assistant interfaces and APIs with no customer data in the prompt.
- Export everything (claims, sources, fixes, readings) as JSON at any time. Deleting your account deletes it within 30 days.
- What we ask of you: one technical contact, a branch we may open PRs against, and about an hour of review per week.
